The Actresses Of Our Future

In today's society of rapid stardom, it's hard to not bestow enough praise on the young talent that have actually fought, struggled, succeeded and formed a foundation in their acting career. Amongst these seven actresses below, they have racked up years in drama school, honed their skills in small indie films and popular TV series, as well as moulding their international flair to sheer on-screen perfection. These women are geniuses in their craft which has me immersed in their work- I'll take this over TOWIE any day thanks!

SHAILENE WOODLEY- Divergent, The Secret Life of The American Teenager, The Descendants
OLIVIA COOKE- Bates Motel, The Quiet Ones
LEA SEYDOUX- Blue is The Warmest Colour, Inglorious Bastards

LUPITA NYONG'O- 12 Years A Slave
MARGOT ROBBIE- Wolf of Wall Street, Pan Am, Neighbours
ELIZABETH OLSEN- Oldboy, Kill Your Darlings

Motel Rocks Festival in London

I have been known to spend countless hours surfing the Motel Rocks website. Their clothes are edgy, hip and quite frankly the definition of youthful rebellion. Attending the Motel Festival at 229 Great Portland Street, the new season collection on display didn't disappoint! Sequins were out in full force, along with some fabulous rose print crop tops and praiseworthy leather dresses. Sifting through, I had a difficult time picking a favourite item! The entertainment was spectacular with performances by The Tuts, Them & Us and DJ Billie Porter #GirlPower. The festival theme was depicted well in the candyfloss, popcorn and sweet treats stations, with plenty of drinks flowing. My personal favourite part of the night was having some photo-booth fun with the props provided. The vintage polaroid pictures circa'98 had me feeling all nostalgic! Check out my time below :)

Nikki Lissoni Jewellery Launch

The best way for me to describe Nikki Lissoni jewellery is mystical- And I am quite simply hypnotized by everything visually cryptic. I was invited for afternoon tea to view the new Nikki Lissoni Spring/Summer 2014 range at the BB Bakery in Covent Garden. The location itself set a cute, dainty and quirky vibe (definitely not forgetting the desserts any time soon!)- which bode well with this unique jewellery range. Inspired by a heirloom that had been in the Lissoni family for ages which her grandmother told her differs in meaning from person to person, Nikki set out to create her own range. 'What's inside counts' is the motto her line of extraordinary necklaces, pendants and coins emulate- And ofcourse there's a different wish for a different person. What's yours?

The Fashion Targets Breast Cancer 2014 Launch Party

The Fashion Targets Breast Cancer 2014 launch party was held at St.Pancras Renaissance Hotel which I attended with Zoe Griffin from Live Like A VIP. This glamorous charitable event featured an array of designers and brands along with the Fashion Targets Collection in which 30% donations goes to Breakthrough (Check it out and wear your support!) It was truly a magnificent event where we mingled, enjoyed canap├ęs and drinks and enjoyed some pampering. Made in Chelsea's Rosie Fortescue is an ambassador for Fashion Targets and was at the event along with Millie Mackintosh. Suki Waterhouse also made an appearance- sadly no Bradley Cooper in sight! Other celebrity ambassadors include Lilah Parsons, Emeli Sande and Jessica Ennis Hill. There were also impressive DJ sets from Brydie Tong, Georgie Rogers, Sophie Lloyd, Hilit Kolet and Blonde Ambition.

Can I also talk about how incredible the venue was?! Me and Zoe found the staircase which was made famous in the Spice Girls 'Wannabe' music video and proceeded to take part in a photo shoot shamelessly. The whole building in general has a regal/luxury/Old Hollywood Glamour/Hogwarts vibe to it- if that even makes sense- but I could have stayed there and investigated for hours on end. I will be coming back for an overnight stay soon ;)

Thank you Fashion Targets for a lovely evening!

12 Year Old Thylane Blondeau's Modelling Career

Thylane on Jalouse
I understand that consumerism in society means that we need attention grabbing advertisement outlets to promote products, but when young pre-pubescent girls are plastered across high profile fashion magazines, we need to step back and analyse society's definition of beauty.

I don't disagree 100% with children in the modelling industry. I feel as if the commercial modelling industry portrays a more realistic version of childhood. Family photo-shoots at the beach, children wearing age appropriate clothing with a white backdrop where they're smiling whilst looking behind the camera lens at their parents who'll scoop them up within a split second of them being upset, etc. However, when the child is decked out in designer duds on the pages of Vogue at 10 and lands her first high fashion cover on Jalouse Magazine at 12, there's a certain worrying pang in the air.

Thylane Blondeau, a French 12 year old caused outrage after her Vogue photo-shoot sparked massive controversy and accusations that the fashion industry was hell-bent on sexualising young children. It doesn't even seem right for her to be on the cover of Jalouse as the publication claims itself to be a magazine for women aged 25-40. They even branded her the next Kate Moss, which as a 12 year old isn't even plausible, but laughable. She still has so much more cognitive development to go through during puberty and who knows how her modelling career, personal needs and desires will pan out.

Whilst Thylane is drop-dead gorgeous, every other child in the industry and otherwise is too. It might just be the fact that she is the daughter of international footballer Patrick Blondeau and actress and television presenter Veronika Loubry, that let the fashion industry fast forward her modelling career. After all this young girl walked the catwalk for Jean Paul Gaultier at age 4!

It is now up to Thylane's parents and her agency to guide her career in an appropriate manner.

What do you think of Thylane Blondeau's modelling career?

R. L. Stine's Goosebumps Will Be Made Into A Movie

Who's childhood hero was R.L Stine? My hand is firmly up in the air! And if you agree with me, guess what? There's going to be a Goosebumps movie!!! The project has apparently been in development for 6 years (why so long?) and is being produced by Neal H Moritz from the Fast and Furious franchise. The plot will involve a teen (Dylan Minnette) who tries to save his town from the creepy creations of the author that lives next door (Jack Black).

I have to hand it to R.L Stine- he helped our imaginations run wild in the 90's and even now. For me, reading was creative and an escapism even back then. I remember collecting as many books as I possibly could (which are all stored away in my attic). I would read them at night in bed with a torch. Memories! It will be great to see how they portray this popular children's book franchise on the big screen and how much of a modern touch they'll add to it.

On an important note- I actively encourage reading. Click here to get lost in your inner spooky imagination.

Divergent Movie Premiere - Red Carpet Fashion

I remember back in 2008 when I discovered The Secret Life of the American Teenager where I was introduced to Shailene Woodley. Playing a pregnant teenager unsure of her future, her acting even back then was realistic and spectacular. I knew we would be seeing a whole lot more of her in the future. Fast forward six years- she's officially living the dream! Her gorgeous natural presence has been gracing all the coveted red carpets for Divergent, along with her co-stars Theo James and Kate Winslet. Whilst Kate is used to the immense limelight, Theo seems to be taking to this heightened success extremely well too. I just wanted to take a quick pit-stop at their premiere destinations to see how they have accustomed to the spotlight.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard Taking a Stand Against Paparazzi

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard
I feel the need to congratulate Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard for taking a stand against the slimy paparazzi culture who not only make a celebrity's life a living hell, but aggressively pursue their children. Kristen and Dax founded the #NoKidsPolicy earlier this year which had them appearing on Access Hollywood last month where the couple sat in-front of Steve Ginsburg, owner of a paparazzi agency and reporter Christian Zimmerman. What ensued was a hot debate from opposing teams as Kristen and Dax threatened to boycott publications that printed unsolicited photos of celebrities' children.

Kristen put up an admirable fight stating- 'I'm telling you, as a mum, when I'm holding my baby, your foot soldiers are nasty. What they're doing might be legal, but when I get off an airplane and I'm walking to my car when it's dark...and I'm with my baby by myself, it's terrifying.' Dax also mentioned, 'if you don't have an ethical issue with that then I don't think you have ethics.

The men fired back with an obvious lack of emotional connection stating that the photos taken are 'nice' and seeing a celebrity family on the beach is something a consumer wants. Which if I'm realistically speaking, I'd prefer to see pictures of celebrities on the red carpet, looking glammed up and doing their job- fashion, beauty, lights, glamour! I have no interest in where they buy their food from on a day off. Saying that, I do understand that celebrity culture is indeed an overshadowing factor in society's desires but I do think that the paparazzi use this to place the blame of their job on us (magazine consumers). In simple terms, it's massive groups of bored photographers heckling a celebrity with a child. And even more simply, it's plain wrong.

Thankfully many people are taking note of the initiative and supporters include Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes and Scarlett Johansson. The issue also stems from further back when Jennifer Garner and Halle Berry testified in-front of the Assembly Judiciary Committee in California last year to support a bill that would impose harsher fines on paparazzi who relentlessly stalked children. Garner talked about the 15 men who would camp outside their house with cameras which seemed terrifying to her children. The Californian governor ended up signing the bill into law which only came into effect at the start of this year. This along with the support from Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard we can only hope for the best!

The culture of celebrity has many negative connotations but we can all use their gift of entertainment in a wise way if we chose to. In return, we need to help them. Please lend your support to the #NoKidsPolicy and educate others that using images of children in an invasive manner is wrong.
