Actresses Who Have Shaved Their Head For A Role

I have to admit- even I'm sucked into the dubious depths of reality television. We're constantly vocal about the trash that is associated with a 'scripted' reality, yet deep down we enjoy it. However, when it comes to the finest cinematic form nothing is more honest than an actress willing to undergo a complete image overhaul just to do her character justice. I feel and act like such a masculine entity sometimes, that my long hair is the only thing that I feel keeps me feminine. It would be something I believed in whole-heartedly that would get me to step out of my comfort zone in such an extraordinary way. I have the utmost respect for the following actresses below who have decided to go bare for a film role, whether it's depicting someone with an illness, a supherhero or a bad-ass- these women are incredible!

DEMI MOORE- G.I. Jane
OLIVIA COOKE- Me & Earl & the Dying Girl
NATALIE PORTMAN- V is for Vengence

CATE BLANCHETT- Heaven
KAREN GILLAN- Guardians of the Galaxy

CYNTHIA NIXON- Wit
MEGAN FOX- Photoshopped, still looks hot

The First Official Fifty Shades of Grey Trailer Is Out!

So we still have until next year to wait until the epic movie event of the year- But we've literally been tied up and teased with the first official Fifty Shades of Grey trailer! E.L James' sexy novel which became a worldwide phenomenon has officially come to light in a two minute and thirty three second trailer dropped by Universal featuring some steamy scenes. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson turn up the heat as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele and I hope they do even more so in the full-length movie. I will be greatly disappointment if the sexual elements of the movie are toned down to reach a younger audience. Bondage, foreplay and dirty talk are at the forefront of this movie and by no means should be disregarded. Beyonce has also done a fine job with the 'Crazy In Love' soundtrack which delivers a submissive after hours mood to the trailer.

Check out the trailer for yourself.
It is set to release on Valentine's Day 2015

The Most Iconic Road-Trip Movies

Whenever anyone tells me about their plans to explore Thailand or backpack across Australia I can feel their excitement- But for me, my ultimate adventure lies in the roads across the pond. There's nothing like an American road-trip and there's nothing that has me more excited than potentially pursuing those routes well travelled and well hidden. From the stress-inducing LA intersections to the lone country roads in rural Alabama, I feel a keen sense to absorb it all. I'm not going to lie, movies have played a major part in me wanting to drive through American State-lines rather than chill with exotic animals on the Galapagos Islands. The elements that are added to road-trip movies in the form of unbreakable bonds of friendship, handsome strangers and a concoction of electric young energy all make the cut in the enviable list of life experiences. Who would pass that up? Here I count down some of the most iconic road-trip movies in terms of audience popularity and critical success.

CROSSROADS (2002)
ON THE ROAD (2012)
THELMA & LOUISE (1991)

THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES (2004)
Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN (2001)
LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE (2006)

SCARECROW (1973)
THE HITCHHIKER (1953)
TWO LANE BLACKTOP (1971)

My Grunge Mood-Boards

So even though the UK is well known for our quintessential rainy miserable weather, we always have a small slot in the middle of Summer which welcomes a heatwave. A couple of days out of the year which people so desperately want to make full use of with their brigade of floral crop-tops, strappy sandals and general need for a more 'deep friend' tan. Whilst I understand the sun unleashes endorphins of the happy kind, it tends to mess up my inner funk. My Summer endorphins don't lie in New Look's Summer sale, sunbathing in the park or even in slurping ice-cream from my fingers. They lie in the dark side that runs deep in me. I do consider myself a happy person, but I feel centred in alternative ways.

The following mood-boards depicts my inner needs, wants, obsessions and confessions all year around.

Nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards 2014

So I recently talked about the impressive Emmy nominations and now I would like to gear everyone's attention to the musically gifted. Nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards 2014 are out! For me, there's a certain excitement when nominations are out during award season as it culminates the hard work and ambitions of a few which emulates inspiration for our own goals. In this case, there was a nice mix of artists being ackowledged with a few newbies chucked in for good measure. Obviously, music is regarded as personal to many and to cover all aspects and genres is a stretch- But for now we have to make do with what we have. In this case the MTV VMAs will be held on August 24th.

Emmy 2014 Nominations

The Emmy nominations are out! With the event due to be held on 25th August we still have a while left to speculate who'll walk away with the gong. In the meantime, I have to give out a massive congratulations to everyone who's earned a nomination which with all the talent out there is no easy feat! In particular a massive congratulations to the cast and crew of Orange Is The New Black who have transformed Netflix into a world-class viewing platform with their 12 nods. Leading the pack are Game of Thrones with 19 nominations with Fargo not far behind with 18. It's nice to see that along with Emmy veterans there are new faces who are up for their shot at accredited recognition and have finally arrived.

My Favourite Music Video Choreography

I'm probably the most awkward dancer ever. That doesn't however mean I can't appreciate the simplicity and intricacy of a beautifully choreographed dance routine. With the YouTube comments blowing up with tasteless remarks over Sia's Chandelier music video, I refuse to be taken in with such negativity and happily get swept away by little Maddie Ziegler dancing her heart away. I totally get it. So here, I thought I'd pay tribute to some of my favourite choreography- there's probably a billion more videos which I can't even think about from the top of my head right now! And yes, late night reruns of So You Think You Can Dance when I was 18 has helped me compile this list.

Eva DeVirgilis' Inspiring Body Image Talk

I have to admit that I'm guilty of it. Sitting in a make-up chair to get your face painted, you're immediately bombarded with stacks of immaculately presented visual beauty merchandise. The need to match those glossy heights of materialistic pots and potions compels us to offer an explanation as to why we aren't equally as dazzling. My flaw that I always point out? 'I have the worst under eye circles ever'. Looking at me, the woman who at that moment seems to have my whole life in her hands mentions, 'don't be ridiculous, I can barely see anything'. Immediately, I think she's lying, sucked in the premise of being a top notch cold-hearted saleswoman. But as make-up artist Eva DeVirgilis explains make-up is essentially enhancing the exterior beauty. From personal experience, nothing is more mesmerising to me than holding a conversation with someone who's confident and warm in their sense of self. If you haven't already done so, check out her inspiring speech below.
