Celebrities Supporting London & New York Pride in Years Past!

"The theme of this year’s Pride Parade is #PrideHeroes, celebrating individuals who have contributed to LGBT+ rights over the years."

In celebration of London Pride and New York Pride this weekend, I've rounded up some of the best celebrity supporters in the years past. There's such a warmth in this celebration of love, life and freedom and having key figures in the media come out for support adds that added element of union. I can't wait to see the incredible pictures from both sides of the Atlantic this year!

4 Popular Long-standing Crime Dramas

"One could argue that the sanitized versions of fairy tales we have today are actually counter-productive to the original purpose of fairy tales, so the children can safely confront their darkest fears."- Dr.Spencer Reid

I love a good crime drama. The one thing that I really admire about these shows is that they have a quiet confidence. They don't need a media frenzy to pull in high ratings each week. Today, there are many 'niche' crime dramas popping up left, right and centre- but there are a few that has stood the test of time. Along with the top-notch portrayals of the hardened, quirky, humorous, courageous individuals on duty- I can't applaud the monumental efforts by the writers, cinematographers and directors enough. Being a part of such television is no easy feat- And the following four shows are a result of such excellent teams that mould intrinsically together.

CRIMINAL MINDS (2005)
*To catch a criminal, you have to think like one.
*My personal favourite. Ten years in and I feel like I'm part of the team!
4 Popular Long-standing Crime Dramas

NCIS (2003)
*Naval Criminal Investigation Service
*The world's most watched television drama
4 Popular Long-standing Crime Dramas

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (1999)
*In the criminal justice system, sexually-based offences are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories.
*Mariska Hargitay has been the lead for 16 years and has directed a few episodes.
4 Popular Long-standing Crime Dramas

CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (2000)
*There's no such thing as questions, just hidden answers.
*Grissom and Sara's romance was TV's most underrated romance #Underdogs

Orange Is The New Black #OrangeCon Event & Red Carpet!

"There’s something about the show that’s very honest. It deals with women of such a diverse population, that you don’t normally see in the media."- Taylor Schilling

So it's almost been a year but Orange Is The New Black is back for its third season! I never thought this day would come. But alas, the occasion itself was celebrated by a major fan meet and greet #OrangeCon where the cast members stepped out in style (ermm hellllloooo Crazy Eyes!) It's just incredible to see this show evolve into a great platform for diverse women in the media, as Taylor so eloquently puts it in the above quote- I would perhaps like to see a South Asian inmate (played by me perhaps hehe) but nonetheless, i'm more than pleased with what this show has accomplished. I get being an 'inmate' isn't a coveted way of living but hey, we have more than enough highly formulated shows. I just wished I lived in New York so I could attend OrangeCon!

Orange Is The New Black Season 3 is now available to watch on Netflix

Who Would Play The Real Life Powerpuff Girls?

"Sugar. Spice. And everything nice"

Blossom, Bubbles & Buttercup
Massive news! My childhood heroes are back! Cartoon Network has announced a 2016 reboot of the famous crime-fighting cuties- The Powerpuff Girls. They most definitely make Townsville the safest place on Earth, but even I have to admit a soft spot for uber-villain MoJo JoJo. Nonetheless, I love the three different characters and as a child I always wanted to be Bubbles, the baby of the group. Growing up, I guess I'm more like Buttercup- a little bit of a mean streak never heart anyone! However, it would probably be ideal to be Blossom, the naturally gifted leader. Nonetheless, the new voices behind this big eyed dream team have been revealed. Amanda Leighton will voice Blossom, Kristen Li will voice Bubbles and Natalie Palamides will voice Buttercup. However, imagine if they made a real life version of The Powerpuff Girls and they had now grown into teenagers? Well, check out my casting picks for the Powerpuff Girls below! Let me know if you agree or who you would pick!

BELLA THORNE AS BLOSSOM
ANNASOPHIA ROBB AS BUBBLES
PHOEBE TONKIN AS BUTTERCUP

Celebrities along with Jennifer Lopez in Trouble Overseas!

"I just knew that was what I wanted to do. I was going to perform as a singer; I was going to perform as a dancer, and I was, you know, going to do movies and be an actress. I was going to do it or die trying. That's what my life was."- Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez is in trouble for her performance in Morocco. Her sexy performance has led to a national outcry resulting in 160,000 complaints. There also seems to be a lawsuit involved. If found guilty Jennifer could spend up to 2 years in prison. Which is ridiculous. What I don't understand is did the Moroccan public not know what they were in for when they went to watch her? She's naturally sexy with an incredible sense of performance and attitude that elevates her appeal to the next level. She works hard, she owns it and deserves every bit of accolade she gets. For me, she's eternal- a woman I aspire to be like once I hit my 40s. How could she be invited to a country, knowing full well who she is and then attempt to slap her with a prison sentence for doing her job? Trust me, I understand religion comes highly into play in this scenario- but she should never have been given the OK to perform. The absurdity of this situation will bowl over soon, but let me present to you the other celebrities who were banned from entering and performing in foreign countries.

Feisty Body Image Quotes by Celebrities

"Get used to it because I’m going to live to be 100 and I am going to show my thighs every day till I die."- Lena Dunham

Body image is still such an issue in our society today. It is unfortunate that many of our visual goals are held my images of celebrities in the media. The promotion of an idealistic 'size' is easily attainable according to on-line and print publications- And the majority of us know that's not true. And as evident in my list below it's women who feel burdened by this pressure to explain themselves and how they look- Nonetheless the following women have taken to their celebrity status and embraced their figures. Their incredibly positive mindset inevitably makes us feel better about ourselves. Check out some of the best body image quotes from these fabulous ladies!

"For the record, I'm a size 8 - this week, anyway. Many stylists hate that size because I think to them, it shows that I lack the discipline to be an ascetic; or the sassy, confidence to be a total fatty hedonist. They’re like ‘Pick a lane."- Mindy Kaling

"I think no matter what you look like, the key is to first of all be happy with yourself. And then you know if you want to try to improve things that you don't like about yourself, then do it after you appreciate yourself."- Adele

"It completely sickens me what our culture is doing to women. Last week I wore a big top and little shorts and a bunch of stuff came out saying I was without pants. 'The No-Pants Look,' it said. And I didn't go out without pants, I had shorts on... If Olivia Wilde had gone to a party with a big silky top and little shorts she might have been told her outfit was cute... What it was really: 'Why did you show us your thighs'?"- Lena Dunham

"I've been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It's noise I block out automatically. I love my body. My boyfriend loves my body. My son is healthy and happy, so that's all that matters to me."- Christina Aguilera

"I might have a little bit of cellulite. I might not be toned everywhere. I might struggle in this area or that. But accepting that just empowers me. I feel proud if young girls look up to me and say, 'I'm curvy, and I'm proud of it now.'"- Kim Kardashian

"I was in love with a boy and he told me, "You'd be real hot if you were 10 pounds lighter."'  'It was heartbreaking. I should've known how cute I was, and been a lot happier."- Meghan Trainor

"You see other actresses who are like, 'Oh, I can't really eat much lunch today because I've got that scene in my underwear'… I'm a little bit chill. But you know, what you do need is stamina. I don't ever want to be too unhealthy because writing in a show, starring and producing, you need a lot of energy."- Rebel Wilson

“Kiss my fat ass!”- Tyra Banks

"I’ve never felt like I needed to change… I’ve always thought, “If you want somebody different, pick somebody else.” But sure, criticism can sometimes still get to me. Some things are so malicious, they knock the wind out of you.- Melissa McCarthy
