Why I'll Only Surround Myself With 'Passionate' Friends

Why I'll Only Surround Myself With 'Passionate' Friends
Keeping yourself surrounded by passionate people. It's pretty obvious, isn't in? Obvious- yes, yet simple it isn't. Too many times we round up our popularity dependent on the number of people we call 'friends' than who truly make us feel like a friend. And according to the Oxford Dictionary, a friend is defined as: A person with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically one exclusive of sexual or family relations.

Things I've Learnt Since The Five Years I Graduated

Things I've Learnt Since The Five Years I Graduated
I recently attended my little brother's graduation in Birmingham and came to the stark realisation that it's been five years since I walked across the stage myself. And to be honest, I haven't really thought about that day since. I was just so glad to be done with 'education'. And while I enjoyed my time at university for skyrocketing my social development, looking back now, I understand that the person I am today is because of the years that followed. There have been a lot of trying times as well as the positive that I didn't get the resources to deal with by sitting blurry eyed at an early morning lecture. What I have learnt since throwing my graduation cap in the air are...

The Enlightening History Of A Dream-Catcher

The Enlightening History Of A Dream-Catcher
I'd always heard about dream catchers- but just thought it was an enigma that I couldn't get my head around. However, during my travels to America over the winter holidays, I was offered a full history of the stunning pieces. Driving through the outskirts of Nevada, Arizona, Utah I realised there was a more fulfilling, spiritual and enlightening meaning, that centred towards the notion of positivity. And I fell in love. And have done with my Crotchet Dreamcatcher from Empty Casket. Indeed, they add a unique touch to your surroundings and if you aren't quite clued up on what they were originally intended for, let me fill you in-'I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?- John Lennon

American Inspiration To Mark the 4th of July

The declaration of Independence was bestowed upon the United States of America on this day back in 1776. And the country has come a long way. I understand there are some MAJOR flaws in recent times but I have the willingness to believe that they will all be handled on good accord. In terms of celebrating Fourth Of July, I still think it's such a declaration of the American Dream. Even as a Brit with a number of opportunities at my fingertips in London, I still think the definition of freedom is more dreamlike and momentous across the pond. If you make it there, you can make it anywhere. Below are just a few American moments that I believe are just a snippet of what the day is about. Enjoy. -'In the end, the American dream is not a sprint, or even a marathon, but a relay. Our families don't always cross the finish line in the span of one generation. But each generation passes on to the next the fruits of their labor'- Julian Castro
