Fashion Designers to Watch in 2016

'I have always been surrounded by smart, classic, and powerful women, and I have always enjoyed seeing them at their most beautiful. The collection is inspired by those women.'- Brandon Maxwell
Fashion is a difficult business. The interning, the long hours, the showing your worth when every door gets repeatedly slammed in your face. It takes a certain kind of focus and chic charisma to breakthrough and with more bold celebrities looking to be 'different', the demand for new upcoming designers is everything. Fashion is something so expressive yet personal that celebrities are more than ready to endorse those designers they think would cut it long term in the industry. Take for example, Brandon Maxwell. Not disregarding his extraordinary work history as a second hand to Nicola Formichetti (remember Gaga's meat dress?) he then went on to be Lady Gaga's personal stylist herself, dressing her in the likes of Valentino and Roberto Cavalli. He is now more than ready for his own success with his ready-to-wear collection.

Christmas Red Carpet Inspiration from 2015

'Jingle in the rain.'- Sofia Vergara
The red carpet was slayed this year. There were different trends, designers and colours that reigned supreme. So much was the red carpet fierceness, that the following celebrities provided incredible Chrismas inspiration. The reds, the blues, the greens...just like your very own personal Christmas tree. And trust me, outfits like the following are easy to recreate from high street companies such as New Look, Miss.Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins & Topshop. You are literally spolit for choice!

Hottest Celebrity Romances of 2015

'If I found someone who would never try to change me, that would be the only person I could fall in love with.'- Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift Calvin Harris
There have been some high profile break-ups in Hollywood this year. Think Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck/Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green/Zayn Malik & Perrie Edwards etc. But fear not- this isn't an article on what went wrong in LA LA Land this year but what went right. There were many beautiful and surprising relationships which blossomed- some that stemmed from years of friendship and others which were a result of spontaneous yet strong, instant attraction. Hollywood and the business in general is tough. Tough to stay with someone for a long amount of time. Factors such as hectic work schedules, intense media speculations and crazed fans are enough to put the normal person over the edge, but for celebrities, even a glossy coat of 'thick skin' can't stand the heat sometimes. But with each new romance- there's new hope for all of us, that under all the mayhem associated with the chronicled elite, they're just like me and you.

Eastern Eye's 50 Sexiest Asian Women List

'A piece of advice to the ladies – it’s all in the mind. Remember, sexy is as sexy does.' Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra
I grew up immersed in Bollywood. As a child I felt like I could relate to only those who looked like me. One boy in primary school talked about his love for a just-starting-out Charlize Theron. A blonde haired, green eyed goddess. Other boys had similar crushes and other girls had similar looking role-models. Disregarding the fact that I'm Pakistani, the women in the Indian film and television industry turned into my childhood muses. I would be baffled by the insane beauty of Aishwarya Rai and melted at the charm of Shah Rukh Khan. Nowadays, my palette and definition of a 'muse' has changed. Skin colour is no longer an issue because I have had enough life experience and years behind me to understand that the colour of my skin doesn't define me. Along with the present day phenomenon of Quantico's Pryanka Chopra, my role models include the likes of Rooney Mara, Elizabeth Olsen, Viola Davis and Vera Farmiga.

SAG Awards 2016 Nominations & Predictions

'Thank you SAG Awards for recognizing the cast of OITNB & myself with this nomination. Means so much to us to tell this story'- Uzo Aduba
 Uzo Aduba
Wow. What a year for film and television. It has allowed Hollywood's lucrative award season to be spoilt for choice. Hot on the tails of the Golden Globes, The 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards have released their nominations which will culminate on January 30th next year. This is the award ceremony that actors like best because its voted for by their peers. Ah friends! They'll always have your back! Looking at the list, there were some surprises in the form of Empire and Fargo not racking up a single nomination each. There are of course some obvious favourites such as Game of Thrones and Homeland which have returned for another year to dominate the nominations list. Standouts include Viola Davis's nomination for How to Get Away With Murder *Please Win* and the cast of Orange Is The New Black who boosted the popularity of Netflix. Needless to say, a huge congratulations to the nominees and may the best man/woman/ensemble win!

Best TV & Film Female Fight Scenes

'Always protect myself.'- Maggie Fitzgerald (Million Dollar Baby)
In all honesty, when I see two beefed up, ridiculously attractive men sparring it out with their heavy handed punches on-screen, I zone out. But when women fight it out, there's a certain sense of dominance which is so bad-ass, it has me on the edge of my seat. And no, this isn't about the pleasures associated with two women in bikinis wrestling in a mud-pit! There is more to this than that kind of sexism. Historically, of course men have dominated the body combat sector of Hollywood, yet the influx of women asserting their physical authority on-screen began rising in the 60's and 70's. Nowadays, it seems as if an actress hasn't fully lived in all her talented glory, if she hasn't engaged in a fight scene (and not used a body double!). Everyone from Angelina Jolie to Michelle Rodriguez have raked in monumental success at the box-office with their power and surpassed the independent expectation of women in film and television. Even Bollywood over the years isn't scared of throwing their actresses into the physical arena- an industry which was once (and still sort of is) threateningly dominated by male ego.

Celebrity Fashion Campaigns of 2015

'It is such a big deal to be acknowledged by Dior. It means a lot as a woman to feel beautiful, elegant, and timeless.'- Rihanna
Rihanna Dior
The nineties were no doubt the era of the supermodels. It was the time when Cindy Crawford graced countless magazine covers long before knowing her dead-ringer daughter Kaia Gerber would follow in hot pursuit of her career. It was time when Tyra Banks made waves as the first black model on the cover of Sports Illustrated. It was also the time when Linda Evangelista muttered the infamous words, 'I don't get out of bed for less than $100,000 a day.'  Legend.

Fast forward to 2015, an elite batch of supermodels do still reign supreme, but their workload is lightened by the usage of celebrities in fashion campaigns. Brands such as Marc Jacobs, Dior and Roberto Cavalli want to induce more personality into their campaigns, they want someone the public are familiar with. Who better to fit the above Dior brief than Rihanna? Celebrities are ruling the fashion industry and I no doubt disregard the culture of the 'supermodel' but until we hit the nineties trend of championing them above all else again, then the following celebrities are doing just fine representing these fashion brands.

Trek America Travels: Road Trip Movies

'You said you and me was gonna get outta town and, for once, just really let our hair down. Well, darlin', look out, 'cause my hair is comin' down!'- Thelma Dickinson
Thelma & Louise
This time next week I'll be in America. I'll jet off on my own and then travel with a bunch of strangers through the company Trek America from Los Angeles to New York. I (hope) I'll be sleeping under the stars at Death Valley National Park, endorse gluttony with New Orleans' beignets and immerse myself in American history and culture in Washington, DC. I'll be spending Christmas Day, my 26th birthday and New Years Stateside and I am nervously peeing my pants in sweaty excitement. Truth be told, I've been planning this trip for years. Trek America as a company make it so easy to set off on the road and indulge in the 'American Dream' which my childhood travel fantasies have centered around. I am intrigued at the different terrains, views, beliefs, people across the US- the diversity, the notoriety, the exaggeration. I want to visit every confined small town as well as the glittering lights of glossy cities such as LA and Vegas. I want it all. The following three weeks will give me a slice of that as I travel cross country on the Southerner tour. And trust me, I already know I'll have hopes of returning super soon for a longer slice of heaven. Next time, - me, a fearless friend and a car #TheDream.

Instagram's Most Liked Pictures of 2015

'Do your squats, eat your vegetables, wear red lipstick, don't let boys be mean to you.'- Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner Instagram
Instagram is a powerhouse. The picture sharing platform has amassed millions of users who upload stills of their very best and look at the elite for inspiration- And now the top ten Instagram pictures where those pockets of inspiration have been sourced has been revealed. Needless to say, there are a mere handful of people who keep popping up and it's none other than Kendall Jenner who's nabbed the top spot with her gorgeous hair pictorial and beauty- outdoing Kim and Kanye's wedding picture from last year. The photo has garnered 3.2million likes and is now a popular media cult beauty image. In terms of the rest of the list, it's Taylor Swift who dominates along with some familiar faces along the way. It's also interesting to note that everyone on the list are women. #GirlPower

2015's Breakthrough Acting Talent

'You can’t create something alone. You need people to support you.'- Adam Driver
adam driver girls
2015 has been an incredible year for us to note down new acting talent. There are those who have been slowly working up the ranks on new projects, others whose sheer understanding of the acting craft has propelled them to the forefront and others who are just now getting the recognition they deserve.

Truth be told, anyone can act. But to be an actor, you need a true appreciation of the art form, a detailed understanding of the techniques used, a lack of fear of looking 'stupid' or 'wearing your heart on your sleeve'. There are millions out there who look to hit it big, but the following names on my list are those you may be whole-heartedly familiar with this year due to their hustle or should probably know about due to their excellent work in small indie films.

Kylie Jenner Lip Kit: Colour Inpiration & Where To Buy

'Been dreaming of this day for two years now'- Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner Lip Kit
It's her lips that made her the present day beauty icon and now Kylie Jenner is capitalizing on the hysteria her pout has caused. After years in the making, Kylie has unveiled a new matte lip kit range featuring a lip-liner and it now has it's own Instagram page which has already nabbed more likes than we could possibly imagine- And I have to say that this is a rare celebrity make-up launch that I am genuinely excited about! She may only be 18 and already admitted to having fillers, but her make-up skills are undeniable. You can tell she has a true gift for the make-up in the form of artistry and would understand the need to put her all into one of the most highly anticipated beauty products of the year. Young girls look up to her and adults are in awe of her. We want to nab tips and tricks from her without the horrors of the #KylieJennerLipChallenge and her new range of lip kits are a perfect safe alternative.

Kylie teased fans with a sneak peak or her lip kits 24 hours prior on Instagram and now they are available to buy at in the signature Kylie shades-True Brown K, Dolce K, Candy K.

GRANDMA Film Screening Starring Lily Tomlin, Julia Garner & Marcia Gay Harden

'What's he gonna say, 'Sage's grandma beat me up?'- Elle Reid
Grandma Lily Tomlin
Set to release on December 11th in the UK, 'Grandma' is one of those films that takes you by surprise. I was invited along to a special screening at Sony Pictures Europe where all I knew about the film was that it featured a stellar female line-up. Essentially, the film is a simple one day tale of a fragile soft spoken teen Sage (Julia Garner) who turns up at her grandmothers house Elle Reid (Lily Tomlin) in search of $630 to abort an unwanted pregnancy. Elle by no means is the typical cookie baking, knitting grandmother. In fact she is a sarcastic, impulsive, once successful poet who's just broken up with her much younger girlfriend Olivia (Judy Greer). Weakened by her granddaughter's cries for financial help and not having the ability to donate herself, they set off on a journey to gather cash from old friends and former flames, causing turbulence and spilling secrets along the way.

Golddigga AW15 Press Day with Brand Ambassador Ashley Roberts

'Every young woman wants a collection of clothes that are versatile and express the different aspects of her personality. This collection gives her the opportunity to be whoever she wants to be.'- Ashley Roberts
Golddigga, a brand I am incredibly familiar held a press day for their Autumm/Winter collection last night where former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts stepped out in full force as their brand ambassador. Roberts, let me tell you fits the brand like a glove. Golddigga holds an ethos of being edgy, unique and individual and Ashley more than parallels that. She also stars in their A/W15 #girlsnightin photo shoot where she looks stunning wearing pieces such as a faux fur trimmed coat and 60's printed monochrome co-ord.

Who Should Kylie Jenner Date Next?

'Ten years from now-in 2025-I hope I have a kid.'- Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner Tyga
It only seemed like yesterday when Kylie Jenner hit 18 and suddenly had Tyga by her side day and night, proving truth to the months of 'are they, are they not dating' rumours. But now the pair have split. That to on Tyga's 26th birthday. It seems like Kylie's monumental interest and residence in the spotlight seems to have gotten too much for Tyga who has been blamed for the separation due to his interest in other girls. But let's face it...this was bound to happen. Let me remind you- Kylie Jenner is eighteen. She is still so so young. This is her time to have fun (and she sure is judging by her social media posts) but she doesn't need to be tied down to someone. There are plenty of young hot options out there who would still allow her to chase those dreams of hers. After all, she does have the world at her feet. Let's take a look at her best suitors!

American Music Awards 2015 Red Carpet

'Tonight's the night!'- Selena Gomez

Ahh nothing like a fashion-filled, beauty enduced, diamond encrusted red carpet! And this time it was  all about the American Music Awards. The event which took place from LA's Microsoft Theatre featured an epic display of performers such as Gwen Stefani, Ariana Grande and Carrie Underwood. It's like everyone's idea of the American Dream- The country which gives birth to a lot of fantastic musicians and performers and welcomes international talent to hone their skills for world domination. As always before I start my tribute to the best dressed of the night and my mood boards for months to come, I want to say a huge congratulations to the winners and nominees of the night. They are at the peak of what millions across the world dream of. These are the people who have unlocked the secret formula and hopefully will inspire many more to crack the code.

Kardashian & Jenner Beauty Regime: Products They Swear By

'I have so many friends who don’t wear make-up and hardly ever do their hair. I feel really blessed because I genuinely love the process of getting my hair and make-up done.'- Kim Kardashian
A slightly 'crazy' family who's life we started chronicling in 2007 has now turned into a multi-million dollar empire. The Kardashian sisters were quick to churn out their 'brand' with numerous business, appearance and television deals under the ever-changing culture of Hollywood. Whilst the '15 minutes of fame' category applies to most who try to make it, these sisters have raked in that staying power- which has notoriously not sat well with many. And let's not forget the Kardashian's once baby-faced half sisters, Kendall and Kylie who have managed to pursue their own versions of fame to dizzying heights- playing hand in hand with society's nosy curiosity of growing up in the limelight. Needless to say, love them or hate, you have most definitely heard of them. With their stunning make-up looks and picture perfect skincare you can bet there would be many companies endlessly attempting to market their products to them to promote. However, over the years there are a few products that each sister has tried and now swear by. If you're willing to spend a little extra, let me introduce to you the Kardashian and Jenner's favoruite skincare products!

Friday the 13th Special: 2015's #AllBlackEverything Red Carpet Looks

"I love black because it affirms, designs and styles. A woman in a black dress is a pencil stroke." — Yves Saint Laurent
Witness Ruby Rose above at the EMA's this year. How stunning does she look?! The all black outfit signals the start of an incredible eye for fashion and talent,. Topped up with those tattoos- it solidifies the current social media trend of #allblackeverything. However this morbidly stunning trend doesn't come without its critiques. Abercrombie & Fitch reportedly banned employees from wearing it in stores *never working there* and Anna Wintour hates it. Erm yikes. But the likes of Coco Chanel, Johnny Cash and everyone's favourite alter-ego Wednesday Addams can't be wrong. Sure for me the 'slimming trick' is great and a bonus, but I feel put together, unique, comfortable and on-trend wearing black. The following celebrities have also given into this deathly yet demure expression of fashion and nailed it on the red carpet this year. Killing it...

Blogosphere Magazine x Samantha Maria Issue 7 Launch Party‏

'I can't believe how surreal it feels to be the face of a magazine, I feel overwhelmingly thankful for the support of my readers and viewers, as without you all it wouldn't be possible.'- Samantha Maria
It seems odd that in today's day and age of digital success, I would be championing a print magazine. Enter Blogosphere Magazine- a high quality print magazine written by bloggers for those foraying or showing an interest in the world of social media which culminated last night in a stunning Issue 7 Launch Party at Motel Studios, Hoxton. Sure, many would be hesitant to spend money on information they could very easily find on the internet, but Blogosphere holds an element of substance that goes further than the 'read & bin it' culture of traditional magazines. Reading it, I am informed, my interests are held 100% and my blogging opportunities seem heightened with what I have read. Needless to say, this magazine will be a coffee table fixture, holding the notion of a 'collectors item'.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 London Premiere

'It would be impossible to go four years with this character Katniss and not be inspired by her.'- Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence The Hunger Games
Oh imagine what it would be like to be Jennifer Lawrence right now! Or any of The Hunger Games cast for that matter. This successful franchise has been at the forefront of popular culture and has catapulted the careers of its stars. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 brings this film series based on Suzanne Collins' mighty novels to an end, which many of its crazed fans will not be taking lightly. Jennifer Lawrence made sure to bow out in style last night at the London premiere with her gorgeous Dior gown and talked extensively about what an honour it was to play Katniss. The rest of the cast looked equally red-carpet ready (hello Chris Hemsworth!) whilst enjoying their years of hard work, friendship and dedication to the series. It'll be fascinating to see how they use their experience and fame from The Hunger Game series to mould their future careers- However, I'm pretty sure it'll be nothing short of award-winning. In the meantime, let's enjoy the moment and fawn over the pictures from the London premiere.

MOBO Awards 2015: Winners, Fashion & Performances

'Tonight was special.'- Rita Ora
Rita Ora
The 2015 MOBOs were held in Leeds last night and music's hottest new faces came out to play. Dominating the event were Rita Ora, Elle Eyre (who racked up a win for Best Female) and FKA Twigs. The girls put on a show in terms of fashion and also with their fierce designer gear on the red carpet. Speaking of the red carpet, I have to give it to the men of the night who I think slightly upstaged the women in terms of looking good! Well done boys! All in all the night was an incredible celebration of rising and cemented ethnic talent. Equality is key in creativity and that showed at the MOBOs!

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2015: Model Line-Up

'Victoria's Secret's newest recruits. Oh and I get to do it with my best friend Gigi."- Kendall Jenner

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is a spectacle each year. The beauties, the themes, the bikinis- topped off with the incredible performers. It's the hottest ticket in town. The show which is being taped this year on the 9th and 10th of November (airing on Dec 8th), will also feature two of the hottest new rising supermodels- Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. The people over at Victoria's Secrets sure know how to rake in the #kerching. Nonetheless, for a model to earn her wings is no easy feat. You need that something special, the charisma, the spark along with the flawless features and toned body. There is something about an Angel which is unattainable to us mere mortals- And for this occasion that's perfectly fine. However, for some models it takes years of hard work to bag this job role, because after all walking in the Victoria's Secrets Fashion Show is the ultimate dream. It transports you from a model drowning in a sea of beautiful faces to celebrity stardom. Women such as Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio who have walked this particular catwalk for years have built mega-fortunes. Needless to say it'll be the same for the fresh tidal wave of beauties. I mean, just look below at this years gorgeous line-up. Easy on the eye, eh?

The 'Emoji': History and Inspiration

'Stay hungry. Stay foolish.'- Steve Jobs
Emojis History
It's interesting to see the categorical rise of the 'emoji' and the way in which we use them to communicate with each other. Needless to say, such endearing forms of expression has been traced back to nineties Japan, where the emoji was initially given birth at a Japanese research facility. This was after mobile phone companies noticed people were using pictures as a way to communicate more often and needed to support the needs of 80million technology users. The solution? Emojis! Users were quick to embrace the 'emoji' as regular word text messages took up way more characters than an emoji which took up a single one. It was then when Steve Jobs visited Japan to promote the iPhone and check out the Japanese cellphone market that he realized the iPhone was missing a crucial photo element feature. He made a deal with a company called Softbank to get a piece of their financially successful 'emoji' market. And boy did it pay off!

Best Celebrity Halloween Costumes 2015

Yes, I'm committed to Halloween- Emily Ratajkowski

There was an article in the Daily Mail about the carnage associated with Halloween this past weekend. Pictures engraved in the content depicted hundreds of people- male, female, young, old, running riot on the streets of the UK dressed up in their ghoulish alter-egos. Many had drunk themselves to shreds and others had been arrested due to altercations- however it did seem to depict a completely different type of make-believe society, where all we wanted to do was be someone else for one night. It looked like a scene from the classic film Halloweentown (childhood memory alert!). And whilst Hallows' Eve (which traditionally stemmed from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain where people would light bonfires and wear costumes to spook off roaming ghosts) isn't everyone's cup of tea, it acquires a certain enigmatic presence that ironically brings the notion of happiness and togetherness within our society today.

Halloween Series: Dolls Kill Clothing

Inspired by the perpetual revenge of young girl fantasy, Dolls Kill is an active subversion of the fashion industries "norm"- Dolls Kill

Dolls Kill. Ahh kinda like a community for those of us who like to step away from the norm. Those of us who take inspiration from the Tumblr social media age, the punks, the goths and plethora of underground cultures- Needless to say they have elements of clothing that would suit all of us. What I adore most about Dolls Kill is that they make on-line shopping an 'experience'. So much thought and creative direction has been put in behind the scenes which really puts them ahead of the pack in their field. Hosting a unique array of established and new brands, they have some beautiful dolls 'personalities' who parallel our inner display of expression. There's Kandi- the EDM Queen, Coco- the Barbie, Willow, the hometown hippie, Darby the band fiend and the one whose fashion I'll be featuring today- Mercy. My alter-ego. The darkness. The mystery. The beauty. Prepare to be hypnotized.

Halloween Series: Goth Room Decor

'There is something at work in my soul, which I do not understand.'-
Mary Shelley, Frankenstein
My room is pink. Yes it is. If you know me, that may come as somewhat of a shock to you. But let me explain... I've been hiding in my current room since I was 11 years old. The colour scheme was picked out for me because *all girls like pink, right?* and my inadequate nature to get things done has let Barbie's playground stay. At 11 the room was just my foundation, but over the past couple of years I have added depth to that room. If you open up my pristine hand painted baby pink wardrobe, you'll be faced with a wardrobe full of black. If you skim the shelves of my book case you'll see it's loaded with psychological thrillers and real-life paranormal reads. If you nosey at my Google history it fills the air with a spouts of inky inspiration and late night murky television marathons.

Halloween Series: Killstar Clothing

'Channelling emotional power and raw energy into every thread'- Killstar Clothing
As part of my first Halloween series, I have decided to feature three clothing companies over the following week that pay homage to us freaks- the ones who dress for the night, the ones who dress for the creeps and the ones who dress for the meaning that mere mortals wouldn't understand. The first in my series is Killstar Clothing which is a company that was established in 2010. Their products feature an array of cool sweatshirts, edgy beanies and fabulously curated leather jackets. No matter what angle your dark side stems from- the occult, witchcraft, astronomy, Satan, spirits, Killstar Clothing has you covered! What I really like about Killstar is the relevance of their clothing coupled with great prices, that let the niche truly indulge in fiery elements of their darkness. The authenticity of the designs make Killstar a cult classic!

Top South Asian Youtubers

'Girl, hold my bindi and pass me a slipper!'- Lilly Singh

Lilly's YouTube discovery resulted in one of those 'staying in-marathons'. I mean, I felt like I was a little late to the party so I had some catching up to eh? She is HILARIOUS. It's just the way she knows exactly what you're thinking, coupled with her genius comedic timing. Every single video about brown parents is so so true, I can't stress enough. For reals, us brown girls don't have a normal upbringing. It's incredible that her channel was actually born out of a way of self medication due to depression. What a way she's come with a recent sell-out world wide tour. Besties alert!

Stylist Live: The Talks, The Brands & The Catwalk

'Overdeliver. If an editor asks for three ideas, give them six.' - Lisa Smosarski
Ah magazines. The glossy feel of a print copy holds a near and dear element of nostalgia which I don't want to give up. Especially in today's day of soaring digital publishing which I whole heartedly embrace and am honing my skills in, it's still incredible to see a publication that excels in both print and digital- And managed to pull off an insanely mesmerizing 4 day event of fashion, beauty, lifestyle and career which culminated last night. I attended Stylist Live on Friday and I chose that day in particular to hear Lisa Smorsarski, Editor-in-Chief of Stylist talk about her career as a magazine editor. There was also a talk by Stylist's Features Director Lucy Foster on formulating the perfect writers pitch for a magazine (and I sadly missed it as it was full by the time I arrived). However, I topped the day off with a brilliant talk by Maggie Hitchins, Editor-in-Chief of, who rendered some handy advice on the differences between writing for print and on-line platforms. I have to say I've been acquiring experience in both since I graduated university and I still managed to walk away with resourceful knowledge. It's so satisfying learning for people who are engaged in your dream job. I look forward to putting those tips and tricks to good use and hurtling full gear ahead in the career game.

Movies That Constructed My Love For Hollywood

'Life and death, energy and peace. If I stop today, it was still worth it'- Gia Carangi
There's such a domineering presence on the small screen currently that it feels like the magic of cinema is being somewhat lost in translation. Or maybe that's just me. Maybe my childhood was so exempt from social interaction that I found another realm that I could wake up to. Maybe my twenties have forced me to open up the blinds and glance out into the evolving definition of reality. But then last week an element of nostalgia hit me hard. It was after I settled down to watch 'Gia' for the first time, a 1998 biopic on the beautiful yet notoriously troubled 70's supermodel Gia Carangi whose persistent drug use resulted in a HIV induced death. Angelina Jolie played Gia. And I have to say- like most of the general population, I've enjoyed Angelina's work in recent years and during the noughties, not just because of her evident beauty but her knack for bringing a character to life. And guess what? I fell in love with her all over again after watching Gia.

Chokers- The Modern Day Guide

'Transcendence requires suffocation.'- Benson Bruno
As a generation fixated upon the boldest new trends, we rely on accessories to add an element of class and elegance to our visual personality. The accessory 'choker' is deemed a staple for those reluctant to get their head out of the 90's dream or a pre-teen girl sampling with her experimentational rights. However, there's something about a choker which for me personally adds an air of sensual womanly energy and if styled right, hits all the right present day style trends. The choker does however have a deep history far and wide with women from the French Revolution adorning the piece to a centuries old International presence in Chinese, Egyptian, Indian and Native American cultures.

In today's society, a choker is not an 'everyday' wardrobe item- the difference I get in a double look from others when I wear a choker to work or a simple gold chain necklace is monumental and also at some points, laughable. Why should I be given a look of distaste when I accessorize for comfort? Ofcourse, in certain work places there are dress codes and by all means please stick to it. But I work in the creative sector and if anyone comes into with work with, say blue hair- I'd welcome whatever makes them feel comfortable. And the same should go vice versa. Here, I've shown you just a few chokers from my collection and listed at the bottom are a few handy websites to live out that choker dream of yours.

Best Crazy Coloured Lipsticks- Green, Yellow & Silver!

Rihanna Green Lipstick
I am not a fan of colour. If anyone knows me they would know and even understand the fact that I like to swamp around in deep, dark colours- mostly signified in the social media culture as #allblackeverything. But excuse me, how awesome does Rihanna look wearing metallic green lips? There's an intrinsic sense of reckless abandonment, carefree solace and youthful enigma that parallels the grunge era of the 90s and the present day need to stay relevant as the next type of beauty over takes the race for creative attention. We are of-course a society that craves constant satisfaction in the way we look- and whether others stare at us for positive or negative attention, we still win. If I could wear these outlandish lip colours everyday (laziness is a key issue which results in the lack of a colour chart on my pout) than I most certainly would. Have a look at some of the best dupes for this colourful lip trend.

Four Interesting Jobs I've Had: The Journo Hustle

'The key to realizing a dream is to focus not on success but significance - and then even the small steps and little victories along your path will take on greater meaning.'- Oprah Winfrey
Journalism Career

Growing up I relied on television shows, movies and celebrities in the media as a sense of social realism which I couldn't experience due to a strict religious upbringing. I counteracted my shyness by getting lost pages deep in books and using the delicacy of words for escapism. So it only seemed fitting that bringing the two of those aspects together would be a career path I would excel in. But it's been tough. I graduated from university nearly five years ago. Since then I have been pursuing a career in showbiz journalism. I have interned, freelanced and assisted in print magazines, on-line publications, PR, social media, event management etc and the list goes on. I've made some great contacts, had some incredible experiences and built my confidence. My foot is in the door. However, getting the rest of my body through the door has proved to be tough. I can't tell you how upsetting it is to be currently working as a receptionist with people questioning my dedication to my goals. My career is my number one priority. I most certainly feel as if I've lost a few years to the hustle, but I will never take a step back in order to achieve it- Even if it means doing dissatisfying jobs here and there along the way. Never giving up (which I'm telling myself now) is the best advice I can give anyone out there in the same position. Whilst I work my way up to a respected job role on a magazine, newspaper or television show as a showbiz and entertainment journalist, I've listed four jobs I had that didn't quite make the cut on my CV. These are experiences I'll always remember to humble myself once I'm whole-heartedly happy doing the job of my dreams.

Diversity's Hottest New Obsession: Priyanka Chopra

'Is America ready for it? Are we ready for it? Is India ready for it? Am I ready for it?'- Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra in Quantico
I was 11 years old when I watched Priyanka Chopra get crowned Miss.World at 17 back in 2000. A day later, she was on the cover of every single Asian magazine with her winning smile and diamond encrusted tiara. She had officially joined the ranks of Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta as role model status for young South Asian girls everywhere.

67th Annual Primetime Emmys 2015 Winners List

'In my mind, I see a line. And over that line, I see green fields and lovely flowers and beautiful white women with their arms stretched out to me over that line. But I can't seem to get there no how. I can't seem to get over that line.'- Viola Davis

Can we just talk about the women who dominated at the Emmys 2015? I am over the moon about the Viola Davis winning the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in How To Get Away With Murder, in which she is downright chilling. Getting into character in such a way require more than talent- it requires a true understanding of acting as a craft. She lives, breathes and eats the world of visual storytelling and it is this gift that has seen her succeed, especially as the first African American winner for this award. The nature of her acceptance speech drew emphasis on the difficulty of her ethnicity, which gave me goosebumps.

67th Annual Primetime Emmys 2015 Best Dressed

 'Glam Time!'- Giuliana Rancic
Giuliana Rancic
Kerry Washington
Sofia Vergara
I LOVE everything associated with the Emmys- And this year was no different! True, celebrities get the chance to dress up for events, premieres and special occasions nearly every night of the week but the Emmys are one in particular where they are allowed to go all out in their quest for perfection. Especially with the evolving elements of media in the recent years, we have come to see a true diverse cast of people in the media, which has made the red carpet even more of a celebratory occasion. Of course for me, the winners of the night are the true heroes, as well as the nominees who have put in their best shot and still deserve accolades for their performances. To check out the winners of the night- CLICK HERE. In the meantime, enjoy my best dressed below! Beautiful people!

Make-Up Artist Lan Nguyen Grealis' Star Studded Book Launch

Dedicated to the man who said I was only a beautician and makeup is just a bit of slap on the face- Lan Nguyen Grealis
Make-up extraordinaire Lan Nguyen Grealis celebrated her book launch 'Art & Makeup' yesterday at London's Freemasons' Hall which catered to an array of celebrities from Paloma Faith to Jessica Wright. The make-up artist to the stars held an enchantingly mesmerizing fashion show to showcase the looks in her book- And let me tell you, the show was breathtaking! Her looks took inspiration from the likes of Picasso, Mad Men, Cleopatra and The Great Gatsby which all came to life on the catwalk. The theme in itself was a twisted apocalyptic fairy-tale which was perfectly executed with an insane band who set the mood amongst the dim atmosphere. It's great to see the artistry of make-up being celebrated on such an elevated level. Contrary to what some may think, it takes a lot of skill to bring a vision to life using make-up, influences and gut instinct. This was all depicted immensely in Lan's work- And I can't wait to see more of her work. Congratulations!

Celebrity Specs Appeal

"I can't think without my glasses"- Vivienne Westwood
Kendall Jenner
Forget all those awkward high school days where you continuously pushed your glasses up your nose and endured P.E lessons barely being able to see due to the sweaty steam. Glasses are now the hot staple accessory used by celebrities to jazz up their look and look unimaginably sexy whilst doing so. Kendall Jenner was recently spotted out and about looking super sophisticated and the picture of 'geek chic', which inspired me to look back at other celebrities who clearly couldn't be bothered by putting on their contact lenses for the day but for an excellent outcome!

Celebrity Squad Goals

'What does seem possible and easy and comfortable is having this entire league of incredible girlfriends that I have.'- Taylor Swift

There has been a major source of praise recently for solid friendship circles within the showbiz industry which can otherwise be hard to find in such a cut-throat industry. These friendships are surrounded in wealth, good looks and talent which leaves us feeling slightly inadequate yet hopeful to join such a squad one day. And even though we are perfectly fine with our friends, fun and experiences- the term 'squad goals' has become a harmless endearing form of fangirling driven by the social media age. So let's have a look at the most sought after celebrity squad goals out there right now.

Kanye West's 2020 Presidential Campaign

'I have decided in 2020 to run for president.'- Kanye West
Kanye West has said many things throughout the years that makes us question the concept of confidence. But at the weekend's VMA's he out-did himself by declaring he was going to run for President in 2020. Do I think he'll hold power in the White House. Erm hella no! But do I think the alternative world in which America is reigned by Kanye West would be deliriously fascinating? Yup! Here's the top 10 changes that would be put in place if Kanye West became president.

Mistress America: Movie Review

'There's no adultery when you're eighteen. You should all be touching each other all the time'- Greta Gerwig

Movies usually fall into three categories. There are those that annihilate your mind on the premise of its deeply thought provoking and complicated story-line. Those that have you on the edge of your seat doused in adrenaline. And then those that qualify as a stress relief period of around 90 minutes that you can enjoy with your friends. If you're in the mood for the latter then let me introduce to you Mistress America.

Popular Celebrity Plastic Surgery Procedures

'I believe if somebody chooses plastic surgery it should be for themselves, not for anyone else'-
Ashlee Simpson

Plastic surgery. The mere thought of it sends shivers down the spine of many. Celebrities get plenty of flack daily for the tweaks to their appearance, but we forget that there are 'normal' people around us daily who use plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures as a variable to feel better about themselves. Happiness and high self-esteem is such a sought after emotion that I frankly find it a little rude to negatively judge someone for going under the knife. Recently, the 'Kylie Jenner lip craze' wreaked havoc on society across all ages- but unless we all grow up in a family under constant scrutiny, I don't feel we have the right to judge her. Sure there are celebrities who take it too far, but I feel like it's their personal element of trial and error. In conclusion, if plastic surgery makes you feel better about yourself and it's carefully thought out and researched, then go for it! Below, I look at celebrities and the most popular forms of plastic surgery today.

Interview with BBC Radio 4 Comedian Terry Alderton

'I touch the wall back stage and ask the Universe to help me find the funny'- Terry Alderton

I always have mad respect for comedians. Sure we love a good ol' giggle with our friends, but having someone random try to make you laugh is no easy feat. That's where Terry Alderton steps in. His career has seen him appear in Eastenders, hosting the likes of BBC's The National Lottery and Red Alert and also being nominated for an Edinburgh Comedy Award. Currently, he has his own radio show on BBC Radio 4 where he indulges in a wide variety of sketches and impersonations which offer genuine chuckles. I got a chance to have a little chat with him- here's what he's got to say for himself...

Celeb Women Talk About Men

'When looking for a life partner, my advice to women is date all of them: the bad boys, the cool boys, the commitment-phobic boys, the crazy boys. But do not marry them'- Sheryl Sandberg
Women are complex. Oh yes we are. There are so many of us out there with our unique personality traits, collection of experiences and viewpoints. Needless to say, it's so fascinating to see how women view our male counterparts- from those who have loved and lost, had their time or are living in it right below. Below I present to you a collection of my favourite womanly quotes about the male species. Enjoy and feel free to add your own.
