Final Thoughts for Oscars Best Actor & Actress Nominees!

'It's an odd conversation. It's like talking about your fantasy wedding but not having a wedding.'- Brie Larson
So the event of the year is nearly upon us! The 88th annual Academy Awards will bring together the industry's elite. In terms of the 'diversity row'- I get it, even more so perhaps. However I think, especially in this particular niche people think of diversity as only black actors, but as a South Asian women I feely incredibly underrated. BUT, I don't think it's fair to take it out on the extraordinary talent which has been nominated this year. I mean have you seen Brie Larson in Room?! And how many actors out there could pull of Eddie Redmayne's role in The Danish Girl?

Attempting to boycott the awards is essentially a slap in the face of the American Dream and those actors who are up there in the clouds and not attending or showing their support to this years nominees are childish, ungrateful and utilizing their position of hierarchy in an unjust way. Hopefully one day they will get nominated, but who would want to return the favour and come and support them? Nonetheless, this post is about the nominees for Best Actor and Best Actress. Since the nominations were announced they've been asked multiple times about how they feel- low and behold, I've gathered together some of their final thoughts.

May the best man of woman win!

Male Celebrities Who Are So Badass Feminist

'If I have any particular appeal to women, maybe it's because I listen more than other guys do and appreciate how they think and feel about things.'- Ryan Gosling
Ryan Gosling Feminist
So Kesha still having to work with her alleged rapist Dr.Luke is devastating. I couldn't imagine working on such a magnified scale with someone who treated me wrong- both emotionally and physically. In fact, in the past I have been quick to walk away from demoralising situations and stand up for myself-sometimes to negative connotations. But ofcourse, the Kesha situation is a completely different context. It's also wholly horrifying because she is a magnificent singer and having something like this come in the way of her releasing her trademark high energy mood-boosting music is the crumbling of what many refer to as the 'American Dream',

However, I would just like to reiterate that this isn't a battle of Men Vs Women but of Good Vs Evil- And just to throw a little proof in the pudding, here are some handsome leading men who are proud feminists and wouldn't have it any other way!

Cyber Bullying Towards Muslim Women By Their Own Kind

'The ones that are worried about your life are unhappy.'- Durrani Popal
Durrani Popal
Hate it everywhere on-line. The ability to hide behind a screen and type derogatory comments to individuals is so easy. No one to answer to. No face to face confrontation. No illusion of 'hurt feelings' for the person you're targeting. As someone who's immersed in the world of social media, the hottest new YouTube stars, viral videos and Instagram beauties I am constantly fascinated by these men and women who are an on-line success story. But I'm not going to lie, multiple times the line between my reality and fantasy are blurred and at times, I find myself incredibly jealous and low about these beautiful make-believe lives right infront of my eyes- But by no means, do I try to belittle those people behind the mask of the internet. I don't leave a comment underneath their photo about how they're showing off, I don't point out their 'rolls' or their 'bones' and I certainly don't use 'slut-shaming' words to describe them. I would get nothing out of it.

And unfortunately the context in which I have witnessed this type of cyber-bullying the most is abuse geared towards Muslim woman BY other Muslim women. Firstly, let me say- ALL Muslim women are DIFFERENT. We don't all wear scarves and bound ourselves to the small confines of what someone else defines religion as. I am always a strong believer in the fact that religion is for one's own self. Only you have the right to decide how religion will affect your life. Some use it as a strong measure and some use it as a spiritual measure and some don't incorporate it into their lives at all. And that is completely fine. There's enough going on in the world with the likes of Donald Trump acting out his delusion of eradicating Muslims on a grand scale than us dragging someone else down because they don't follow our personally moulded set of beliefs. Wake up and have a heart.

Ashley Graham owns her sexiness in a way that every woman should.- Sports Illustrated
For the first time in 52 years, Sports Illustrated has announced that there will be three different 2016 covers- All three featuring gorgeous women! Plus size beauty Ashley Graham makes the cut along with rising star Hailey Clauson and sportswomen of the moment Ronda Rousey. The magazine is usually a stomping ground for jaw-droppingly beautiful women over the years- but it's evident that a lot of thought has been put on the women who adorn the cover. Confidence, sex appeal and unapologetically feminine. Over the past ten years alone, singing goddess Beyonce has been given the honours, along with curvy beauty Kate Upton. Single Celebrities on Valentine's Day 2016

'I'm waiting for the man who's ballsy enough to deal with me.'- Rihanna
There are those who go all out on Valentine's Day. The flowers, the chocolates, the candlelit dinners & extra public displays of affection. Then there are those who are bitter, cynical, hate the 'commercialised' nonsense of this particular day. Oh and they are most definitely SINGLE. Sure, it's definitely much more of an experience if you spend Valentine's Day with your other half, but it's actually all about showing love to  your family and friends as well. It's a day of social adoration, which doesn't need to be reserved for only your romantic interest. There are many celebrities who will be riding solo this V-Day and I'm sure they'll make good use of the day. The below are just a handful of those who are flying the 'single' flag like myself!

George Shelley is Bisexual! Other Celebrities Who Date Both Sexes

'I don't want to feel that I can't be myself'- George Shelley
Union J's resident heartthrob George Shelley has revealed he's bisexual! Well, he didn't use that word in particular but he has confessed to dating both men and women. Frankly, I think the word 'bisexual' gets a bad rap in the media. It's a word often associated with greed, wrongful attention and thrown around far too easily. But I still use the word because in simplistic terms it describes an individual who dates both men and women. Sure, sexuality is much more complicated than than definition, and there are arguments for and against using 'labels'- but I feel like at the end of the day the real victory is letting people be who they truly are. Shelley is brave enough to come forward and talk about the various boyfriends and girlfriends he's dating, thus putting an end to months of speculation.
