Opium London: An Electric Fusion of Mediterranean and Pan-Asian Cuisine


It's one of Spain's premier nightclubs, with locations in Barcelona, Madrid and Marbella, where people from all walks of life, who span a vast age range, go to forget their woes and party the night away. Opened in December 2018, Opium London, the branch's fourth venture, is well on its way to become the place for a night on the tiles. And another string to its bow, the European-inspired venue also gives you the incredible experience of fine dining.

I was lucky enough to be invited down to the London branch to sample the mouth-watering menu on offer, and upon entering, I quickly understood that this was to be a dinner with a twist. A huge shock to the system, entering a nightclub and it not being shoulder to shoulder packed with people atop alcohol stained floors and a queue to the cloakroom, it undoubtedly makes for an unusually exclusive experience. With the electric neon lighting, spacious seating, a DJ creating the perfect ambience, me and my guest were good to go.


Cocktails already flowing, we were treated to a flavoursome fusion of modern Mediterranean and Pan-Asian cuisine, enough to happily appetise our palettes and leave us wonderfully full. We were treated to the likes of California rolls, vegetable spring rolls, chicken and foie gras cannelloni (I'm a pescatarian, so I passed), beef fillet (see before), truffle and mushroom risotto (my favourite!) and to top things off, gorgeously warm, wholesome chocolate brownies. Everything on the menu was inviting, flat-out delicious and presented in such an artistically, lovely manner. There was nothing served to me, which I didn't enjoy.
